Why a deposit, why the ID check, why no SMS

After reading this you will know what each rule prevents and what you get in return

Some rules look strict. This page explains what each one prevents and what you get in return.

Why do some venues book for free

Each venue chooses whether to take a deposit (0 = free booking). A venue that doesn't uses the "no-shows in a row" rule instead of money: not turning up without cancelling as many times as the venue set (2 by default) blocks your number for a while (7 days by default) — so cancel from your booking card before the release time when you can't come.

Why a deposit, and why it isn't refunded

A table on a busy night is worth a lot. Free bookings invite people to book “just in case” and never come, so those who really want to come get no table. A deposit gives a booking a cost — but the system does not keep the deposit as a fee: when you come, it becomes in-venue credit for the full amount, so people who show up lose nothing. Only the no-shows, who cost the venue a table, do.

Why you attach the slip yourself after paying

The venue receives the money directly in its own account via PromptPay (no intermediary taking a fee), so the system cannot see the money arrive by itself. The slip is the proof. Automatic verification confirms it within seconds when the receiver, amount and transfer time are right; staff handle the rest.

Why the ID is checked at check-in

To prevent reselling bookings on sold-out nights. The name on the ID must match the booker's name. The system only reminds the venue to look at the ID — it stores no ID number or picture — and you can change the booker's name yourself until check-in.

Why there is no account, no OTP and no SMS

You can book right away without signing up. Instead the system gives you a secret link that is your key to view and edit the booking, so there is no password to forget. It also means nothing is sent afterwards — the link and the booking card image you saved are the only proof. If you lose the link you can still see the status with your phone number + booking code, and the venue can issue a new link.

Why one phone number can book one table per night

To stop people sweeping up several tables and deciding later. The venue can book several tables by hand for a large group once you have talked to them.

Why a number is blocked after abandoned bookings

Booking and then letting the time run out keeps a table blocked for nothing for 40 minutes each time. Three in a row and the system blocks the number for an hour. If you're not going to pay, tap “Cancel booking…” → “Confirm — not paid, release the table” and it won't count.

Why slip images are kept for 90 days

So the venue and you can check back when there is a dispute. After that the image is deleted automatically; only the amount and reference remain.
